Earth Hour Will Not Save Earth, Think Of Something Else!!

Are you participating Earth Hour on Saturday? And did you think that Earth Hour will save Earth? I think should make your minds work harder see whats really happening during Earth Hour and what will happen in the following years. Maybe you could not see this right but this Earth Hour thing will not really save earth and this is going to be just a regular event every year that everyone celebrates without thinking whats really the purpose.

OK, you will say that Earth Hour serves as a vote for all people to know that we need to act about this matter. But think about this, how could an hour long of not putting your lights on (except your computers and all other appliances) will save earth (not to mention the cars that runs on the street everyday)? Thinks about it. We need physical efforts, we need technological efforts and not turning off the lights. Look, the planet is very sick and we need to act clearly and not doing some Earth Hour CELEBRATION. If we don’t act as early as this year, we might lose the chance that we can at least stop the process of degenarating of planet Earth. And I will repeat this over and over again, Earth Hour will not save earth. Its just a celebration.

  1. I think you’re missing the point. Earth Hour IS NOT meant to be the solution. It’s meant to be a symbolic movement to spread awareness directly to the people and encourage us to be more conservative toward the environment. If you think about it… it was a daring movement.. desperate, even. To call for almost a billion people… and have them set aside their differences and agree on one idea.. be on the same boat at the same sea. It is phenomenal.

On the contrary, celebrating this Earth hour once in every year is not the main point why we are celebrating it, it just entails that all of us should be more sensitive on what is really happening on our planet. It’s not that easy to call trillions of different people to join this said activity. Maybe some did not join but many have offered their full-time in exerting effort to help our planet regain its natural aura. Although it is not enough to save our planet, still it gives us much evidence that we, as one, help one another to save Earth. And even if we are not on same tribe or religion, we joined forces just in one mission : TO SAVE OUR PLANET EARTH.

  3. I agree with the first comment because earth hour doesn’t mean that it will really save the earth BUT it can also help us in saving our nature. :)

I agree. I firmly believe in your statement, Sir. Not using of electricity doesn’t mean that you can save the planet earth. Maybe it will only lessen the consumption of electricity for 1Hour, but it won’t save the planet earth.

  5. Yes, you are affirmatively right about this issue. We are just making nonsensical things about this stuff, we aren’t helping the Earth instead we are creating more useless whatsoever celebration. This is useless because we are not sure if all the people in the world are participating in turning off their electricity when in fact at that time, there are still appliances currently working and the vehicles are in continues motion. Duh.. And its just ONE HOUR. After that, people would be back into being monstrous destroyer. What we need is a sincere and willful heart for each one of us in making a change in order to restore our planet. We don’t need celebration, we need ACTION, taking an action not because we are told to do so but taking an action because we have the will to make a change. Right? Well, that’s my reaction. Thanks! God Bless!
