Google Wave Spoilers!! Don’t look!!

A couple of day ago I received my most awaited Google Wave invitation to see, experience, be excited, and somewhat to be disappointed. Why? I’ll tell you later. First, we will discuss about the invitation. As I remember I signed up for a Google Wave Invitation in the official page many week ago. Just imagine that, I waited a long time to received my invitation, but I understand that there are a lot of people requesting for an invitation. And because of that I consider myself lucky. (more features and screenshots below)

Next is about the interface of Google Wave itself. Take a look at the screenshot below. You will see that it looks like Google Chrome in someway, but in overall the theme, layout, menu placements, special designs is good and its pretty easy to understand. And look over the scrollbar, it ROCKS!!

Now, as you may have noticed in our conversation there, it seems like my recipient is not able to see what message I am sending to him. As well as I am, I can’t see my own messages. Theres also an instance that I can’t see his message. That’s just one problem I’d like to address.

Now let’s move one with this feature that I’d like to show you, the ability to add youtube videos (I hope they will enable the other video sharing sites as well). Looking from the screenshots below, that its pretty decent to look at. Although I still don’t know how to do that, and I hope they could add an auto-fit feature to both video and image attachments.

And here’s one last thing I want to point out, every time I post or send a message I always need to push the refresh button. I wish this could be improved, just like when you post on your wall at Facebook. Take a look at the screenshot below. Anyway, thanks Google for the invite.

I see huge potential in Google Wave when it comes to collaboration with a huge crowd. When you have limited contacts then it’s not worth pursuing. Though it may be real-time in some ways and could support bulky files, it still lacks the connectivity and innovation it boasts. I hate the scrollbars!
